Description
Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) — Petals & Stamens for Tea · Whole Dried Flowers · Hand-Rolled Cigarettes
Revered along the Nile for millennia, Blue Lotus was depicted on temple walls, papyri, and ceremonial vessels as a sacred bridge between worlds. Priests, royalty, and dream-seers associated the flower with the rising sun, rebirth, and crossing into the “other” realms of vision and sleep; its gentle, euphoric calm was used to prepare the mind for ritual, dream incubation, and communion with the divine.
Aroma & Profile: honey-floral with soft raspberry and warm hay notes • relaxing, heart-opening, dream-enhancing

Directions for Use
1) Tea / Infusion (Petals & Stamens or Whole Flowers)
-
Measure: 1 tsp petals & stamens or 1/4–1/2 whole flower per 8 oz (240 ml) hot water. Start small and build from there for potency.
-
Steep: 10–15 minutes covered (for a deeper, dream-forward brew, steep up to 20 minutes).
-
Serve: plain, or sweeten lightly with honey; sip 30–60 minutes before meditation, bedtime, or ceremony.
-
Cold Maceration (optional): soak the same amounts in cool water 4–6 hours for a smoother, delicate elixir.
2) Hand-Rolled Cigarettes (Blue Lotus Only)
-
Light the tip evenly; draw slowly to taste.
-
Setting: quiet, ventilated space; ideal for brief pre-meditation or twilight wind-down.
-
Note: gentle, non-intoxicating relaxation with a soft floral finish.
3) Ritual & Altar (Whole Flower)
-
Place dried blossoms on the altar, add to bath teas, or float in a bowl of water during intention-setting.
-
Dream Incubation: set intentions, sip tea, and keep a flower or small sachet by the bedside; record dreams upon waking.
Lineage & History (Ancient Egypt)
Blue Lotus appears throughout New Kingdom art and texts as a symbol of the sun’s rebirth and the soul’s ascent. It was woven into garlands, pressed into unguents, steeped in wine, and offered in temple rites. Dream-seers and priests used the flower to soften the senses, invite vivid dreams, and traverse liminal states—a ceremonial aid for moving between the waking world and the other realms of insight, healing, and prophecy.
