DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

This selection of grade 1 Boswellia Papyrifera Frankincense is indigenous to the Tigray Province of northern Ethiopia. This resin is referred to locally as "Betekristian" or "Kerbe Itan," meaning "Church Incense."

The trade name is "Tigray Frankincense" and the Amharic name for the tree is "Walya Meker." This high-quality, grade one B. papyrifera Frankincense has a distinct, soothing, almost floral tone with light earthy aromas and subtle hints of orange and lemon. A very nice light, feminine mild scent. This warm heavenly aroma leaves a fresh clean scent to any living space and is favored by churches.

Medicinal uses of the Boswellia Papyrifera Frankincense include powerful anti-inflammatory properties that have shown in a recent study to be ten times more anti-inflammatory than the most common species of frankincense resin used, which is Boswellia Serrata.  

Boswellia Papyrifera is also used as a rich, natural perfume in indoor and outdoor living spaces. Resins from Africa have been used for thousands of years and are still used by locals in church ceremonies, medicinally and as home incense.​
